宴の後

岸辺に沿ってバス停を探す。

早朝

見当たらない

偶然通りかかった車にバス停の場所を尋ねた

遠いので車に乗って行けと仰る

どこか抗い難いというか、慈愛を感じ

言葉に甘えさせていただいた

いい歳をしてヒッチハイクかと独りごち

老夫婦

坂の上の教会でパイプオルガンを弾いているそうだ

話が進むにつれ

街まで連れて行ってやると仰る

通りすがりの中年男に、親切にしたところで

何の見返りもないだろう

優しさが身に染みた
