独立記念日はイーストリバーの花火で

２０年以上前になるだろうか。

何度か７月４日の独立記念日に催されるマンハッタンのイーストリバーの花火を観たことがある。

今日はまさにその日である。

といっても、ペルーに向かう途中だから、飛行場から出ることはできない。

窓越しに花火が打ち上がっているのが観れる。

遠く離れているが、ミッドタウンからダウンタウンまであちこちで打ち上げていることがわかる。

ちょっと得した気分になった。

さて、まだ旅の途中。

そろそろペルー行きの飛行機に搭乗するとしよう。
